Shaunavon, Saskatchewan


Shaunavon, with a population of less than 2,000 was established in 1913 on the historic ‘Redcoat trail’. The a scenic route, which is now Highway 13, was taken in 1874 by the North West Mounted Police on their way west to fight illegal whiskey trading.

Town attractions include the Grand Coteau Heritage and Cultural Centre and the Plaza Theater on Main Street. The town serviced by Shaunavon Airport.

In Eastend, half an hour west of Shaunavon along Highway 13, visitors will find the T.rex Discovery Centre - a world-class facility to house the fossil record of the Eastend area.
