Meadow Lake

Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan

Meadow Lake, a town of about 6,000 in Northwest Saskatchewan, has grown from a fur trading post in the 19th century to a forestry industrial center. The town is serviced by train and by flights to the Meadow Lake Airport.

The area's main attraction is Meadow Lake Provincial Park. Located about 25 miles to the north of town, it contains a string of lakes along the winding Waterhen River extending 65 miles to the Alberta provincial boundary. It should not be confused with the lake named Meadow Lake which is located right to the southeast of town.
